Let me introduce myself; my name is Margaret and I was born in March, 1959 in beautiful Burlingame, California. I'm a very sentimental gal and love all things vintage. My hubby Steve and I live in a house built in 1957. It's furnished with pretty much all vintage furniture and knic knacks...from the 1920's to the 1960's. I like to think it's an eclectic atmosphere. I like coming home to my retro shack after a long day at work, and hanging out with my hubby and 3 pugs in a homey atmosphere is a great way to unwind. I started collecting vintage items way back when I was a kid, hanging with my Dad at vintage auto swap meets. I think my first vintage item was a black beaded purse with pewter frame. My Dad bought it for me for $5. I was ecstatic and probably only 10 years old. Then came the depression glass phase...it didn't take long before I broadened my vintage horizons and pretty much collected what appealed to me. I really like things that are campy and kitschy. And...I love our vintage trailers...we have 3. And retro cars (a 1940 Dodge and 1954 Pontiac, both Canadian models.) My husband is great...he isn't into the vintage lifestyle like I am, but he supports my hobby and interests and helps me in the vintage trailer restoration. Here's a photo of me and my siblings and Grandma...I'm the little blondie in the front, around 1961 I think? This was taken at the Hillsdale stop in San Mateo, CA.
